Molly (also known as MJ) has been organizing, training, and building infrastructure in social justice organizations for 20 years. Molly was first politicized through queer, feminist, and anti-capitalist actions in the 90s in the Pacific Northwest, and spent the early 2000s teaching sex education in Philadelphia before moving back to the SF Bay Area, where they are from. They spent the last 14 years working at Causa Justa :: Just Cause, an organization building the power of Black and Latino immigrant communities to fight gentrification and criminalization. They are a trainer with Race Forward and The Organizing Center, and a core collective member of Catalyst Project, where they co-founded the Anne Braden Anti-Racist Training Program, building the skills and commitment of white people to fight white supremacy as part of multiracial movements for transformative change. Molly is passionate about building people-powered organizations that can win big and be spaces of connection and joy, and they are happiest with their two kids, hanging out near big trees and bodies of water.
