WOMEN'S MARCH CALLS FOR IMPEACHMENT INVESTIGATION OF JUSTICE THOMAS FOLLOWING GINNI THOMAS TESTIMONY

AMARILLO, TX — Late yesterday, it was reported that Virginia (Ginni) Thomas, conservative activist and wife of Justice Clarence Thomas, finally agreed to be interviewed by the January 6th Committee regarding text messages she exchanged with then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows about overturning the 2020 election. Over 29 text messages were obtained that showed Ginni using her access to Trump’s inner circle to encourage his strategy to overturn the election results in states like Arizona and Washington, and even encouraging the Republican Conference to boot Republicans that were on the January 6th Committee. In response, Women’s March Executive Director Rachel O’Leary Carmona issued the following statement:

“Regardless of what Ginni Thomas says to the committee about her attempts to overthrow our democracy, she and Justice Thomas should have no further influence in American public life. They have permanently disqualified themselves. Justice Thomas has always adjudicated like a professional conservative activist instead of a fair jurist and this proves that he has no respect for our Constitution or our democracy. He and his wife have repeatedly shown their disdain for our fundamental rights and freedoms, and have made it their mission to strip Americans of them. Justice Thomas’s proximity to an insurrectionist has corrupted him and he must be impeached immediately. There is no place for a compromised conservative hack on the highest court in the nation.”
